1.5 million flowers will be planted for landscape gardening in Mogilev which has been chosen a cultural capital of Belarus and the CIS countries in 2013, deputy head of industrial and technical department of “Mogilevzelenstroi” Svetlana Bankuzova told.
Different kinds of flowers (both yearlings and permanent) will be grown at two greenhouse complexes of “Mogilevzelenstroi”. Among them are marigolds, petunias, snapdragons, zinnias, dahlias, begonias, and others. “Mogilevers and its guests will enjoy the beauty of those colourful flowered beds till late autumn; their design is being worked now”, Svetlana Bankuzova added.
There are 150 topical flowered beds occupying the territory of 2.76 ha in Mogilev. Among the most popular among citizen are a flower clock near “Oktyabr” cinema theatre and Mogilev’s image at the bent of Konisski Val.
Two new flower grounds will be made in Korolev street and in Kosmonavtov street (near overbridge). The latter will be decorated with the flags of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, the countries partaking in the programme “The CIS culture capitals”. The flowered beds will face the inscription “Mogilev – cultural capital”.
Besides flowers, 1200 of young evergreen and hardwood plants will be planted in the city. “Colourful flowered beds, gardens and parks will beautify Mogilev and get it ready for welcoming guests of different festivals that will be held in Mogilev this year.”
