80% conscripts of Mogilev region in favour of military service

80% conscripts of Mogilev region are in favour of military service, Mogilev region's military commissar colonel Alexander Goroshkin told relying on the results of the sociological research conducted by independent experts.

More and more young people are eager to serve showing understanding of their civil responsibility before the state and the people and taking it as granted, Alexander Goroshkin admitted. During each conscription period the specialist gathers data conducting social, educational and psychological study of young peoples' moral and psychological readiness for serving in the Armed Forces; the results revealed happened to be quite positive. Potential conscripts show desire for serving at special forces, border forces and Interior Ministry troops.

This year more than 1200 young people will be sent to compulsory military service as soldiers and sergeants; about 200 more will serve in reserve. They will serve both at the territory of the region (in Mogilev, Bobruisk, Osipovichi), and in the troops situated in other regions of the country.

According to the latest data, about 60% of the youth having examined lately fit for military service. The common reasons for granting deferment of military service are: the need to complete education (about 65%), health problems (20%), family circumstances (14%). There have been enough health young people for the Armed Forces to be regularly personneled, Alexander Goroshkin stressed.

Alexander Goroshkin added that there have been registered decrease in evading conscription in Mogilev region; it is unlikely to be considered a topical problem. Only about 1.4% of young people try to evade conscription.

The conscripts will be sent to military units during 14-28 November.
