Mogilev regional executive committee held festive celebration dedicated to the Mother’s Day. 40 women were invited to take part in it; among them 8 mothers who were awarded with Mother’s Orders for having given birth to 5 or more children according to the Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus from 24 of September, 2009.
First deputy chairman of Mogilev regional executive committee Vladimir Kravtsov specified that Mother’s Day is celebrated in Belarus from 1996: “This is the day when we honour the dearest and the most beloved person – our mother. Women’s main mission is giving birth to children. We are glad to certify that during the last years birth rate in Mogilev region has been increasing while mortality rate has been decreasing. This trend gives us optimism”.
According to labour, employment and social protection management department of Mogilev regional executive committee, there are 674 women were awarded with Mother’s Orders for having given birth to 5 or more children in Mogilev region. This year 25 mothers from different districts of the region have been awarded with Mother’s Orders.
