About 1000 artefacts of ХVI-ХVIII c.c. found during digging in Mogilev

The students & teachers of the historical department of Mogilev State University named after A. Kuleshov found about 1000 artefacts of ХVI-ХVIII c.c. – professor of history Igor Marzaljyck, the head of archeology and special historical disciplines chair of the University, informed.

The artefacts found are practically in perfect state, among them is stylet in scabbard with wooden handle, knight leather belt, leather lash, ceramics, parts of leather clothes, arms, etc., dating back to ХVI-ХVIII c.c. The archeologists also found almost 300-year hazelnuts – citizens dainty.

Historical treasure was found at construction area in Leninskaya street in the ancient centre of Mogilev. Thanks to local archaeologists the building construction was stopped and the territory was properly searched.
