About 140,000 Mogilev region's children of pre-school and school age partook in the republican charity action "Our Children". About 100,000 of them received presents on New Year Eve, a source at education office of Mogilev region executive committee informed.
The action started with the traditional Christmas Ball. The event gathered 60 pupils of the regional cadet school. They spent several hours dancing with beautiful girls from the gymnasium-college and lyceum №2.
The Pridneprovie region held a number of New Year and Christmas events. Partaken in them were heads of different offices and committees of Mogilev region executive committee, city and district executive committees, representatives of local town administrations of Bobruisk and Mogilev, other civil servants. About 700 children (excellent pupils, winners of district and regional school subjects’ competitions and contests, pupils of the regional cadet school, orphans, leaders and active members of public organizations) were invited to the main New Year celebrations held at the governor's. The children saw the New Year musical and received sweet gifts from Mogilev region executive committee.
New Year festivities were held at 10 orphanages, SOS- Children’s village in Mogilev, 45 children's homes of a family type, 23 correctional centres and 18 social orphanages. About Br750 mln was spent for celebrations; Br380 mln of them made up the charity support for adopted children and those brought up by stepparents.
Opening of a children's home of a family type in Zheleznyakova street became the final chord of the action 'Our Children'. Construction of the cosy two-storey house having the area of 235.8 sq.m. was financed from the regional and republican funds. The house of became a home for the family of Alexander and Valentina Kakhanovskys and their 7 adopted children. It's the 46th children's home of a family type having been opened in the region.
The charity action "Our Children" in the region was on from December 12 to January 11.
