Agreement between Orthodox church livings and local authorities signed in Slavgorod

The agreement between Orthodox church livings and local authorities was signed in Slavgorod. The same agreements have already been signed at the state level in Mogilev region.

Partaking in the ceremony was Bishop Sophrony of Mogilev and Mstislavl. The agreement envisages cooperation in different fields - culture, historical heritage, social protection, crime prevention, environmental protection, etc. Special attention will be paid to educational sphere - spiritual and moral education of children and young people.

Slavgorod secondary school №1 has already organised optional course in Orthodox culture. It's conducted by archpriest Georgy Sokolov, dean of St.Peter and Pavel Church at Lesnaya agritownship. Through the example of saints' lives he teaches children basic human values: kindness, justice, mercy, honesty, respect to people, dignity.
