Agribusiness workers make the majority of Mogilev region delegates of local councils of the 26th convocation. The information is provided by Valery Berestov, the chief of the regional election committee.
The elections took place all over the region. 3098 delegates were elected. 183 rural Councils of delegates, 1 regional Council of delegates, 21 district Councils of delegates, 2 city Councils of delegates (Bobruisk and Mogilev City Councils), 3 village Councils of delegates were formed.
Agribusiness workers make 27.1% of delegates; representatives of education compose 15.8%, and industry, trade, transport and construction workers – 11.8%. 48.3% of the elected delegates had experience of a delegate’s duties. Women make 45.2% of delegates. 5.9% of delegates are under 30 years old.
58 persons were elected to the Regional council of delegates; there are 13 women among them (22.4%). 20 delegates (34.5%) haven’t been elected to the council before.
According to Valery Berestov, Mogilev region participation in the elections made 86.3%.
