April, 24 the region holds the National Subbotnik (community work day). The part of the money earned on Subbotnik Day will be directed to reconstruct and restore war monuments and memorials, the Great Patriotic War soldiers’ and partisans’ burial places. According to Petr Rudnik, the head of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, some of the Subbotnik’s funds will be directed to reconstruct children’s summer camps, to provide agro-gorodoks (villages of a modern type) with necessary facilities.
This year Subbotnik is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war and to the fact that 2010 is the Year of Quality.
This day the citizens of the region will work at their works or do community work of reconstructing and restoring war monuments and memorials, the Great Patriotic War soldiers’ and partisans’ burial places.
The participation of non-commercial establishments can be realized through transferring money the amount of which should be agreed with the employees. Voluntary deduction from salaries of those for whom April, 24 is a working day is also possible. Improper use of raised monetary funds will be strictly punished.
