Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Oleg Yesayan has told a press conference in Minsk that the turnover of commodities between Belarus and Armenia had been declining in quantitative terms amid growing cash proceeds.
Last year Armenia saw trade turnover with Belarus exceed $24 million, a 58% rise on the year. This year, however, turnover growth totalled 11%.
Armenia imports the whole spectre of Belarus-made farming machinery, trucks and buses.
At the moment, the parties are negotiating machinery lease contracts to boost trade.
Also, Armenia is now in talks with Belarus over importing Mogilev-made elevators. The contract is due by the year’s end.
