Armenia is eager to establish closer contacts with Belarusian companies, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Armenia to Belarus Oleg Yesayan told reporters on Thursday after a meeting with Mogilev Region Governor Boris Batura.
In particular, Yerevanlift would like to implement a joint project with its Belarusian counterpart Mogilevliftmash, the diplomat specified.
In 2006 Mogilev Region - Armenia trade turnover totaled $2.4 million, and in January-July 2007 it reached $2.2 million. The Ambassador believes that economic and trade relations between Armenia and the Belarusian region should be further expanded.
According to the foreign trade department of Mogilev Region Administration, Armenia accounts for 0.2% of the region's foreign trade. Most of exports falls on tyres (66%), pumps (9%), plywood, fabrics, agricultural machinery, rye flour, canned peas. This year Mogilev Region imported from Armenia a small consignment of synthetic rubber.
