March, 23-24 the sport ballroom dances tournament «Mogilev Open-2013” will gather about 300 dancing couples of the international class from 7 countries. The information is provided by Tatiana Pokazanyeva, a PR methodist of the regional arts centre.
Dancers from Belarus, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Ukrain and Azerbaijan will perform at the sports complex “Olimpiets”. The dancing couples will compete in 26 nominations depending on their age and professionalism.
The tournament will last for two days with three parts each. The program includes European and Latin American dances. The best couples will be defined by the professional jury. The winners will get prizes, diplomas, medals. The beginning sportsmen performing hors concours will get diplomas.
For the first time the tournament will hold the first stage of the children’s Grand Prix. The children’s contest will have two age groups: 7-9 years old and 9-11 years old. The junior group’s program includes 6 dances (slow waltz, tango, quick step, cha-cha-cha, rumba, jive), the senior group’s program includes 8 dances. The most experience dancers will perform Viennese waltz and samba.
The next Grand Prix stages for children will take place in Grodno, Gomel, Minsk. The winners will be defined by the results of four tournaments. After the contests are over Vitebsk will hold a gala concert with participation of finalists. The event will also include a ceremony awarding the coaches of the winners.
