Belarusian dairies in January-April 2007 boosted output of almost of kinds of dairy products, Interfax has learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs.
Specialists said, in January-April companies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs produced
420,000 tonnes of whole milk products, including 24,000 tons of butter, which runs to 6.5% to compare with the same period last year, 34,300 of fat-rich cheeses (24%), including 30,600 tons of hard cheese (25%).
The output of whole milk produce (in milk terms) made 17,000 tons (8.5%), dry whole milk - 4,100 tons (55%), dry skimmed milk - 5,300 tons (30%), casein - 2,100 tons (5%).
Specialists informed, increasing volumes of milk processing contributed to larger output. In January-July 2004 dairy farms turned out 1.227 million tons of milk, 8.7% up to compare with the same period last year.
There are 60 designated dairy production companies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs of Belarus.
