Belarus is planning to engage foreign companies in joint production of agricultural machinery and equipment, Vice Prime Minister Ivan Bambiza told machinery importers during Belagro exhibition.
In his words, these joint ventures are expected to manufacture various types of machinery, including tractors, grain harvesters, potato planters, soil-working machines, etc. Foreign producers are invited to co-operate with Gomselmash, Minsk Tractor Plant, Bobruiskagromash, Lidagroprommash, Lidselmash.
The initial co-operation stage may take the form of setting up assembly shops in Belarus that would make machinery of imported component parts, the Vice PM said. The output would be sold in Belarus and exported to Russia, Ukraine, Central Asia and the Baltic States.
Belarus is particularly interested in collaboration with Claas and Gaspardo, the source said.
