Belarusian farms produced 4.703 million tonnes of milk in 2007, up 3.7% on the year, the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis told Interfax.
Milk production was on the rise on all regions of Belarus, the ministry said. The highest figures, however, were reported from Gomel and Mogilev - up 6.9% and 5% on the year.
Brest Region reports a 4.7% rise in milk production, Vitebsk - 4.2%, Minsk - 2.1%, Grodno - 1.4%.
The average yield per cow in 2007 totalled 4,115 tonnes against 4,016 tonnes in 2006.
The 2007 contribution of private households to milk production slid down by 15.1% countrywide, the ministry informed.
Poultry production rose 6.5% on the year to 972.8 thousand tonnes.
The contribution of private households to livestock production shrunk by 7.4% on the year on average.
