Belshina OJSC (Bobruisk) is planning to complete an investment project that stipulates the production of radial metal cord tyres for supersize mining trucks by 2010, a company representative told Interfax.
According to the source, the investment project is part of the Belarusian Innovation Development Program and the regional import replacement project.
The company is expected to annually make 28,480 such tyres after the project is completed.
The estimated cost of the project is EUR 61.8 million.
Belshina OJSC is one of Europe's largest producers of tyres. It makes over 200 models of tyres for all kinds of vehicles. The company also makes non-standard equipment and spare parts.
Belshina's produce is compliant with national ISO 9001-36 and German DIN EN ISO 9001-94 quality systems.
Over 90% of the company's tyres are radial-type. The design and construction of all kinds of tyres produced by Belshina is patent-protected.
60% of the company's output is exported to 51 countries in the CIS, the EU, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, North America and Latin America.
The major Belarusian consumers of the company are BelAZ, MAZ, MTZ, MZKT, Gomselmash and Amkodor.
