Belshina OJSC is planning to expand presence in the Austrian and Slovakian markets, a company representative told Interfax-West.

According to the source, after a large-scale upgrading program, Belshina may well compete with foreign tire-makers and boost exports to the EU.

In late June representatives of Belshina visited Austria and Slovakia to explore co-operation prospects, the source added.

They found there several prospective business partners, such as Petronafta Trading, s.r.o., Andritz AG, Investeffekt, spol. s.r.o.

Belshina OJSC is one of Europe's largest producers of tyres. It makes over 230 models of tyres for all kinds of vehicles. The company also makes non-standard equipment and spare parts.

Belshina's produce is compliant with national ISO 9001-36 and German DIN EN ISO 9001-94 quality systems.

Over 90% of the company's tyres are radial-type. The design and construction of all kinds of tyres produced by Belshina is patent-protected.

60% of the company's output is exported to 57 countries in the CIS, the EU, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, North America and Latin America.

The major Belarusian consumers of the company are BelAZ, MAZ, MTZ, MZKT, Gomselmash and Amkodor.
