Bobruisk erected a stele with distances to the largest cities of the world

A three-meter stele indicating distances to the largest cities of the world was erected in Bobruisk at the junction of two streets - Proletarskaya Street and Pushkina Street.

Distances follow a direct arc of the earth ellipsoid excluding relief peculiarities. The stele indicates distances to New-York – (7,267 km), Berlin (1,080 km), Moscow (615 km), Rome (1,766 km), etc. Bobruisk did justice to the saying: “Belarus has got three capitals: Minsk, Bobruisk and Pleschenitsy”. The idea of the stele belongs to the director of Bobruisk “Vodokanal” Oleg Titov. The stele was designed according to wooden models of “Bobruisk Machine-building Plant” by Anatoly Nazarovich.
