Bykhov Cannery OJSC is planning to invest BYR 27 billion in the upgrading and expansion of production facilities in 2008, a company representative told Interfax.
In particular, the company is going to modernize the juice shop and install canned peas and pickles production lines. The necessary equipment was imported from Italy, the source specified.
The upgrading and expansion project will triple the company's production facilities, enabling it to process 2,000 tonnes of raw stuff per season.
The cannery is planning to complete the project by 2010. The total cost of the upgrading and expansion of production facilities is BYR 38.4 billion. This year the company is expected to turn out 13.5 million equivalent cans, and by 2010 its production capacity will reach 22 million equivalent cans.
In addition, this year the company will launch 46 new kinds of goods.
Currently Bykhov Cannery produces 90 kinds of goods, including juices, jams, canned vegetables, sauces, ketchups, etc.
In January-April 2008 the company made BYR 1.3 billion worth of goods, or 42% up on the year. About 40% of the output was exported to Russia.
Bykhov Cannery was founded in 1954.
