Chigirinskoye Vodohranilische in Bykhov district started “Bard Fishing” Festival

August, 26 Chigirinskoye Vodohranilische (Chigirinskoye Waterstorage) in Bykhov district started “Bard Fishing” Festival. The first inter-regional sports and music festival attracted bard singers (singers-songwriters) from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.

According to the chief of the festival organizing committee Sergey Kulyagin, it is the first festival of the kind in Belarus and the CIS.
The idea of the festival was initiated by Vyacheslav Klimovich, an experienced fisher man from Gomel region. The project was supported and assisted by Bykhov District Executive Committee.

Many fisher men are fond of fishing. In Sergey Kulyagin’s words, the idea was to revive bard music festival in Mogilev region. The region once held the festivals “March Cat” and “New Town”. It was decided to combine fishing and singing in one festival.

The participants of the festival now live in tents on the territory of “Peschany Bereg” Farmstead. The festival expects about a hundred bard singers including guests from Moscow, Odessa and all regions of Belarus.
