The collection of ceramics by Pablo Picasso will be exhibited in Mogilev. The exhibition of 38 masterpieces by a great artist will be held at Mogilev branch of Belarusian National Art Museum “Byalynitski-Birulya Museum”. Natalia Melnikova, the research officer of Mogilev branch, told about it to the correspondent of the site.
According to the specialist, Mogilev will be the first regional city to present the collection of ceramics by Picasso from the funds of Belarusian National Art Museum. The collection includes plates, vases, jugs and other items created by the artist from 1948 till 1960. The collection found its place in the funds of Belarusian National Art Museum thanks to Nadezhda Hodasevich-Leger. She comes from Belarus. Nadezhda Hodasevich-Leger is a wife of Joseph Fernand Henri Leger, a famous artist, and Pablo Picasso’s friend. The works by the Legers, mostly drawings, will also be exhibited in Mogilev.
