Cooperation between hydrometeorology services of Belarus and Russia has sufficient effect on the countries’ economies. This fact was noted by the Alexander Bedritsky, the head of the Federal Hydrometeorology and Environment Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation.
The economic effect resulting from the use of current data about meteorology conditions exceeds the funds that were invested by the Union State and by Belarus and Russia separately. It is estimated that every invested ruble results in 5-15 rubles of income. Power engineering specialists use weather forecasts to plan their work, to use and save fuel. In agribusiness weather forecasts help to determine sowing terms. Hydrometeorology service specialists examine the damaged sowings. Weather forecasts have economic effects in a number of other industries.
