Vasily Starovoitov was born on June, 13 1924 in the village of Borok, Belynichi district, Mogilev region. During the Great Patriotic War Vasily Starovoitov was a partisan of the 600th partisan unit. He was an aide of the headquarters chief. He was awarded with the order “Red Star”, medals “For Services in Battle” and “To the Partisan of the Great Patriotic War”.
In 1957 Vasily Starovoitov was appointed the director of the state farm “Rodnyansky”, Klimovichi district.
March, 22 1966 the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR awarded Vasily Starovoitov with the title of the Hero of Socialist Labour, the medal of Lenin and the medal “Hammer and Sickle” for the achieved results in animal breeding, meat procurement, eggs and wool procurement.
In February 1968 Vasily Starovoitov was elected the chairman of the collective farm “Rassvet” named after K.P.Orlovsky, Kirovsk district.
June, 13 1984 the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR awarded Vasily Starovoitov with a second golden medal “Hammer and Sickle” and the medal of Lenin. Vasily Starovoitov became the Double Hero of Socialist Labour.
Vasily Starovoitov was awarded with three medals of Lenin, medals of October Revolution, the Great Patriotic War of the first degree, Red Star, other medals. In 1978 he got the title “Honoured Agriculture Worker of BSSR”.
