Empty village Gaishin of Slavgorod district to be become tourist attraction

In a month Gaishin village of Slavgorod district, Mogilev region, will become a tourist attraction: it opens a complex of agrofarmsteads "Gaishin-Park" and aims at getting the status of an agritownship, deputy chair of Slavgorod district executive committee Svetlana Ezerskaya told.

For a long time Tsentralnaya Street was empty, the houses were buried, because after the Chernobyl disaster the village was on the list of the territories from which the population was to be resettled. But now the contamination level has gone done, and the village has opportunities for reviving. The local businessman Mikhail Ermolenko bought the buildings of the local club and library to house an entertaining centre, a small hotel and a café there. Thus, the village can boast of three agrofarmsteads.

"There is no doubt that the place will attract tourists. The village is situated in one of the most picturesque places of Slavgorod district - on the high bank of the Sozh River.  Besides, it's surrounded with undisturbed forests which hunters and fishermen will adore. The natural site Golubaya Krunitsa (The Blue Stream) is situated nearby, thus, tours can be easily arranged there. The first agrofarmstead "Khutorok" was set up by Oleg Gorky from Mogilev; it enjoys high popularity among tourists", Mikhail Ermolenko told.

The focus will be made on active rest and ecotourism: canyoning, hiking, biking tours, hunting, fishing, sport activities. The respective infrastructure has been developing.

Local people are eager to supply tourists with agricultural production, provide catering services, and produce souvenirs. Thus, agrofarmsteads provide the locals with opportunity of making money. And naturally, all of this will promote the revival of the village", Svetlana Ezerskaya stressed.

"Gaishin-Park" plans to be open in July 2016.
