The representative of the the European Union and the UNDP in Belarus Ekaterina Paniklova stressed, that energy-saving means not just saving family budget, but also the contribution made to fulfilling the targets of the Sustainable development, that Belarus signed last year. During the recent years the climate of the country is changing, there are temperature extremes. It happens to be the result of human activities. "For Belarus it's important to reduce energy consumption in the housing sector, as far as it consumes about 20% of the electrical energy and about 40% of the heat energy produced in the country. Energy saving promotes reduction of greenhouse gases emissions into the atmosphere.

The solemn opening ceremony was followed by the excursion for new flat owners. By the way, they consider their house to be a smart and safe one. Windows in the flats are equipped with special interlocking devices, so that young children couldn't open them themselves.
