The FEZ “Mogilev” places a time capsule of an enterprise to produce technical carbon

Today the FEZ “Mogilev” laid a time capsule to mark the launch of the construction of the technical carbon enterprise “Omsk Carbon Mogilev”. Petr Rudnik, the chairman of Mogilev regional executive committee, and Victor Nazarov, the governor of Omsk region (the Russian Federation) took part in the ceremony.

The key founder of the production is JSC “Omsktehugol” that has been in technical carbon production for 70 years. Mogilev’s plant with a production capacity of 120 thousand tonnes per annum will become the third production center in addition to Russian company’s facilities in Omsk and Volgograd. The Mogilev-based factory will occupy the area of 22.7 hectares.

According to Victor Nazarov, Mogilev region was chosen out of 16 sites offered in Belarus. “First of all we were interested in in the economic potential of the region. The fact is that another resident of the FEZ “Mogilev” is JSC “Belshina” that is to be the key consumer of technical carbon made in Belarus. The rest of the make will be exported.

The ceremony of laying of a time capsule finalized a pre-investment phase of the project. It launched construction works that will take 3 years. The construction will attract EUR130 m of foreign investments. The project will create 448 jobs. All the requirements of Belarusian environment protection laws will be observed.

«In Petr Rudnik’s words, both the theoretical and practical bases for setting Belarusian enterprise in Omsk are available. Mogilev region’s educational establishments already train necessary specialists. The Belarusian side got experience in implementing a major project to replace lift equipment in Tula (Russian Federation) several years ago. Belarusian specialists succeeded in their mission in Mogilev’s twin city.
