Fires at peatbogs near Sechikha villge, Krichev district are still being extinguished. – Mogilev regional department of MES informs.
According to the source, the most part of fires was localised on Sunday, but on yesterday’s morning 3 hectares of peatbogs was smouldering. Spontaneous combustion is supposed to take place because of a very hot weather.
Thanks to effective actions took by foresters and rescues the fire area was reduced till 10 hectares. A trench aimed at preventing spread of fire was made, and its perimeter is patrolling even at night. More than 50 workers of local forestry use knapsack sprayers to prevent fire. Rescues assure that within several days the fire will have been extinguished completely. Unfortunately, population of the nearest villages suffer from smog.
