First night of the play about 2002 Nord-Ost siege will be performed at Mogilev Drama Theatre

The first night of the play "Nord-Ost" by Torsten Bukhshtainer will be performed at the small stage of Mogilev Drama Theatre on March 13 and 19. The plot is based on the real events of the seizure of the crowded Dubrovka Theatre by the armed Chechens in October 2002, when about 130 hostages died, Vladimir Petrovich, the project's director, told.

The terrible tragedy that took place 11 years ago will be told by female suicide bomber Zura who had lost her husband during the war in Chechnya, emergency paramedic Tamara who worked that night and Olga who came to the theatre that unfortunate night. Each of them will recall the events of her life. But it will be up to the audience to decide who was to be blamed in the tragedy, Vladimir Petrovich assured.

The challenging play Torsten Bukhshtainer has already been read at Mogilev stage. "It made such great impression on the audience that we had to take a 15-minute break before starting the discussion, Vladimir Petrovich looked back. The audience was of the same mind: the play must be added to Mogilev Regional Drama Theatre's repertoire."
