Free computer skills training courses for pensioners in Mogilev

MTS Company backed by the city’s authorities is going to launch free computer skills training courses for pensioners in Mogilev. The information is provided by the deputy chairman of Mogilev city administration Andrei Kuntsevich.

In his words, numerous studies of the elderly’s behavior show that in the nearest future this age group will get a serious increase in the number of Internet users. At the same time we witness the fear and lack of self-confidence of the elderly to information technologies even though they have a full understanding of great importance of the Internet. A purpose of the project is to help this category of Mogilev’s citizens to cope with psychological barriers and ease the life of people.

According to preliminary negotiations secondary school №45 will host the courses. There “students” will get necessary skills to send emails, communicate on social networks, order a visit to a doctor, a ticket for a train, pay for utilities services. Andrei Kuntsevich says that many senior people need computer skills. But they can not afford expensive computer courses.

MTS company is looking for volunteers to take part in the project. They will get a special training of working with pensioners and teaching them computer skills.
