Germany and Mogilev region: looking for new ways of co-operation

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany in the Republic of Belarus Gebhardt Vice visits Mogilev. Today he has had a meeting with the first deputy chairman of Mogilev regional executive committee Vladimir Kravtsov.

According to the Ambassador, Germany and Belarus have entered the phase of new chances: “We came to a more balanced approach to co-operation. Germany is one of the promoters of the European Union Conception on the “Eastern Partnership”. This may have positive impact upon further co-operation between Belarus and our country. Together we have to look for new forms of interaction in order to help Belarus develop in a more dynamic way, strengthen its economy, increase its standard of life”.

Vladimir Kravtsov in his turn remarked that Mogilev region is open for all-round co-operation with Germany. “Our relations have been developing rather dynamic. Germany ranks the second after Russia in the foreign trade turnover of Mogilev region if not take into account turnover with the CIS countries. Due to the impact of the World Crisis, Mogilev region exports to Germany have declined, though the imports have remained the same: as before, we purchase German equipment and technologies, agricultural machinery”, - he added.
