Getting visa to Poland and Latvia to become more complicated for Mogilev tourists

Getting visa to Poland and Latvia will become more complicated for Mogilev tourists. Just in a few days Embassies of these countries will introduce the system of biometric visas. 29 January 2015 was first announced as the provisional date of introducing the new norm. Shortly before the date was changed for February 5, director of "Mogilevobltourist" Elena Karpenko told.

To get a biometric visa, one must appear in a person to the Embassy to be fingerprinted. They will be valid for 5 years. There is nothing strange in biometrics, the specialist assured; a number of states (e.g., - France) introduced such systems long ago. But this time we speak about our neighbouring countries. They enjoy high popularity among the Belarusian tourists.

Thus, the Embassies will have more paper work, and the term for document handling will increase. In spite of the fact, no new visa centres will be opened in the eastern part of Belarus. "Two new centres will only be opened in Grodno and Lida. What concerns our regions - no information is available so far. Tourists planning to visit the countries must get ready in advance and apply for a visa 2 or 3 months before the planned trip. Nevertheless, there is still a large number of countries that haven't introduced biometric visas yet. We hope for gradual changes in the coming season", Elena Karpenko added.
