Speaker of the Upper Chamber of Belarus’ Parliament Boris Batura, formerly Governor of Mogilev Region, has held a board meeting Monday to urge the region’s top managers to sustain economic development, Interfax-West reports.
“We need to do our utmost to sustain economic development in the region and even boost it up to spite the global financial crisis,” Batura told the gathering.
“I believe Mogilev Region will keep it up, while Mogilev stands a good chance of turning into the best regional centres in the country,” Batura said.
In turn, first vice governor Vladimir Kravtsov on behalf of the administration said words of gratitude Batura for his great contribution to the region’s development. Run by Batura for 8 years, Mogilev Region has showed significant progress in all sectors.
