On the threshold of the Day of Belarusian Militia Mikhail Orekhovsky, the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, BSSR Internal Affairs Ministry veteran, retired colonel, and the chairman of the regional council of veterans, colonel in reserve Evgeny Kovalyonok, visited the Mogilev regional cadet college.
Mikhail Orekhovsky told the students about his war past. The war began when he was 15 years old. He wore shoulder straps for 33 years. He clearly remembers the events that took place 70 years ago. Since July 1944 he took an active part in the fighting with fascists as a soldier of the 600th partisan regiment, then – the 82nd regiment of the 33d division and met the victory on the territory of Germany.
In 1950 he graduated from the Minsk training detachment of the BSSR Ministry of Internal Affairs. He continued his career as a chief inspector of the fire guard. Years passed and he became an assistant of the firefighting headquarters of the regional internal affairs office. He retired at the age of 58 years old but worked for 10 years more.
Mikhail Orekhovsky is awarded with the third Order of Glory, the first Order of the Great Patriotic War, two medals “For Courage”, “For Liberation of Warsaw”, “For seizure of Berlin”, “For the Victory over Germany in the GPW 1941-1945”, “For unexceptionable service”, official medals and badges.
Evgeny Kovalyonok told the students about the history of the Belarusian militia, the opportunities to enter Mogilev state Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Evgeny Kovalyonok stressed the importance of the future career choice since it determines self-fulfillment and success.
