Klimovichi Cereal Products Plant OJSC is planning to commission another flour-packing line in summer 2007, a company representative told Interfax.
The Italian line (EUR 125,000) will put out flour in 1, 2 and 5 kg paper bags. The line will handle 40 bags a minute, the source specified.
Currently the enterprise processes 250 tonnes of wheat and 180 tonnes of rye daily, using 70% of its design capacity.
Klimovichi Cereal Products Plant makes various kinds of rye and wheat flours and ready flour mixes for pancakes.
In January-February 2008 the enterprise produced 4,200 tonnes of wheat flour (23.5% down on the year) and 3,200 tonnes of rye flour (100% up). By changing production volumes the company responded to changes in the flour market, the source explained.
The enterprise also produces flour mixes and livestock fodder. Most of the products are sold on the domestic market. Part of rye flour is exported to Russia and Ukraine. Over the two-month period the company exported $231,000 worth of goods (a 100% rise). Exports accounted for 10% of the overall sales.
