Belarusian unitary enterprise Krichevtsementoshifer boosted exports by 79.5% in January-February 2007, the total value of commodities exported being $1.3 million.
The enterprise shipped to foreign customers 17 thousand tonnes of cement, 24% up on the year, and 83 thousand equivalent roofing slates, a company representative told Interfax.
They attribute export growth to the accelerated rate of cement shipments to the Russian Federation. In the two-month period Russia ate up over two thirds of the total volume of cement exported and the entire stock of roofing tiles.
Other destinations of Krichevtsementoshifer exports are the Baltic States.
The company produced BYR 16.8 billion worth of goods this January-February (46% up on the year).
In January 2007 the enterprise produced 162,000 tons of cement, or 53.6% up on the year. High-quality cement production made 72.7% of the overall cement output (М500ДО, М500Д20 types).
Krichevtsementoshifer produced 14,600 tons of cement packed in sacks (25, 50, 1,000 kg), a 220% increase on the year.
The company also produced 2.3 million equivalent roofing slates.
The enterprise is now engaged in preparatory works for installing a new furnace, a company representative told Interfax.
With the new furnace made operational in early 2008, the company will be in a position to boost cement output by 500 thousand tonnes. The projected is funded by bank loans, innovation funds of the Ministry of Architecture and Housing Construction and the company’s own assets.
In the twelve-month period they invested into that project BYR 6.3 billion.
The company was set up in 1933. The staff counts 1,400 persons.
