Belarusian unitary enterprise Krichevtsementoshifer invested BYR 9.7 billion in the modernisation of its production facilities in January-March 2007, which marks a 6-fold increase in such investments, a company representative told Interfax.
In Q1 2007 the company produced BYR 28.1 billion worth of goods, or 30% up on the year.
In particular, this January-March Krichevtsementnoshifer put out 251 thousand tons of cement (38.3% up). High-quality cement production made 70% of the overall cement output (М500ДО, М500Д20 types).
The company also produced 28,800 tons of cement packed in sacks (25, 50, 1,000 kg), a 97% increase on the year.
In addition, the company produced 9 million equivalent roofing slates (6% up).
Exports rose by 30% on the year in January-March 2007 to reach $2.8 million. The company exported 26 thousand tons of cement and 304 thousand tons of equivalent roofing slates, the source reported.
The source attributes export growth to the accelerated rate of cement shipments to the Russian Federation. In the three-month period Russia ate up over 80% of the total volume of cement exported and the entire stock of roofing tiles.
Other destinations of Krichevtsementoshifer exports are the Baltic States.
As of April 1, 2007, the company's finished goods stock made 4%, the Q1 limit being 20%.
