A Lithuanian tried to smuggle cigarettes to Belarus

Management department of fiscal investigations of State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus of Mogilev region together with Management department of fight against economic crimes of Mogilev regional executive committee prevented smuggling of cigarettes to the Republic of Belarus, - the correspondent of the site was told by the head of organizational-inspectoral department Alexander Sharoikin.
A truck was stopped near Zabroddie village of Shklov district in Odessa- Saint-Petersburg highway; it was driven by 55-year-old Lithuanian who was going from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Lithuania.

“Saint George” cigarettes (cost BYR 5.6 mln) without Belarusian excise-duty marks were hidden into spare wheel and wheels of semitrailer. Administrative protocol according to respective article of Administrative law of the Republic of Belarus was made. It envisages a fine of about 50 base units and cigarettes seizure as punishment.
