Mogilev Region has seen meat and poultry sales grow by 11.5% in live weight terms in January-July 2008 to reach 64.2 thousand tonnes, Interfax-West has learnt from the regional authority on agriculture and foods.
Cattle sales have grown by 8.2%, poultry 21.6%, pork 8.7%, the officials informed.
Also, Mogilev Region farms produced 388.2 thousand tonnes of milk (10.1% up) and 146.5 million eggs.
Milk sales totaled 325.4 thousand tonnes (83.8% of the total yield). The average milk yield per cow made 2,815 kilos.
Agribusiness enterprises of Mogilev Region increased the output by 8.2% on the year in January-July 2008.
Their net profit totaled BYR 96.7 billion (21.5% up). At the same time, one agricultural enterprise ended the period with a net loss of BYR 600 million.
The return on sales in January-July 2008 made 8.6%.
