Mogilev Region has seen meat and poultry sales grow by 11% in live weight terms in January-June 2008 to reach 55 thousand tonnes, Interfax has learnt from the regional authority on agriculture and foods.
Cattle sales have grown by 9.2%, poultry 18.7%, pork 7.7%, the officials informed.
Also, Mogilev Region farms produced 322.2 thousand tonnes of milk (10.3% up) and 127.4 million eggs (2% up).
Milk sales totaled 269 thousand tonnes (83.5% of the total yield). The average milk yield per cow made 2,338 kilos.
Besides, local farms produced 4,600 tonnes of vegetables (3.5% down).
Agribusiness enterprises of Mogilev Region increased the output by 8.5% on the year in H1 2008.
Their net profit totaled BYR 63.6 billion (28.7% up). At the same time, one agricultural enterprise ended the period with a net loss of BYR 53 million.
The return on sales in January-June 2008 made 7.9%.
