Medieval settlement in miniature to build in Shklov

An unusual architectural ensemble appeared on the entrance to Shklov, not far from Serebryanka village. Supposedly there ancient Shklov was located.

The territory of this medieval settlement includes houses, a well and a church. The building material of the objects is typical for the medieval times: timber for walls, cane and flax for roofs. Soon the settlement will get a central square. There will be benches and summer houses by the lake.

The idea to restore the ancient settlement in miniature belongs to the district’s authorities. It is supposed to become an interesting tourist object and a recreational area. The settlement is built at local budget expense: the idea was actively supported by enterprises, organizations and education establishments.

The construction works are to be completed by December 1. Arrangement of green spaces will be held in spring.
