Militia searches for a Mogilev citizen who stole about Br1 bln

Belarusian militia is searching for Sergey Ostapenko - a Mogilev citizen who stole Br990 mln. The information is provided by the Information and PR Department of the Internal Affairs Ministry.

Mogilev Region Economic Crime Office of the Internal Affairs Ministry is searching for a previously non-convicted citizen of Mogilev, born in 1973. He was in charge of the Bank Service Sector for juridical persons at Mogilev Branch of “Belvnesheconombank”. In April 2010 he illegally transferred Br1 181,900,000 from the settlement account of “Mogilev Synthetic Fiber Plant” to the account of “Termoindustria”.

Then he transferred the part of this money (Br191.9 mln) to the account of a local businessman and the rest of the sum – to his personal account. Having withdrawn the cash from his account he disappeared. Law enforcement bodies ask anyone who knows the location of Sergey Ostapenko to dial the following phone numbers: (8 017) 218 79 89 in Minsk; (8 0222) 22 17 32, 25 09 40 in Mogilev; or 102.
