Mogilev region spent about Br145 bln on implementing the state programme "Culture of Belarus" in 2011-2015. The information was provided by the head of central ideology work, culture and youth’s affairs office of Mogilev city executive committee Andrei Kuntsevich.
Significant funds were spent on protecting the historical and cultural heritage, the source specified. Just naming the conservation of the synagogue in Bykhov, reconstruction of Uspensky Monastery at Pustynki village of Mstislavl district, and Palace and Park ensemble at Zhilichi village of Kirovsk district. Besides, design specifications and estimates of some objects have been done.
New expositions have been opened at 16 museums; 23 museums got new exhibits; 10 museums have been redecorated, Andrei Kuntsevich told.
Besides, the regional museums started using modern technologies. Thus, visitors of Mogilev Region Local Lore Museum named after E.R. Romanov, Bobruisk Local Lore Museum, Osipovichi History and Local Lore Museum provide much information via self-service kiosks.
"Mogilev region libraries have been equipped with computers and electronic editions; they provide access to information resources. Special equipment has been bought in Mogilev and Osipovichi to give the blind and visually impaired people opportunity to dive into the wonderful world of reading.
Buildings of some of the cultural establishments have been reconstructed. "Much attention has been paid to popularizing the image of the national cultural both in the region and abroad. Work to this end will be continued in 2016, the Year of Culture", Andrei Kuntsevich summed up.
