The administration of Mogilev is satisfied with the social and economic progress of the city in H1 2007, mayor Viktor Shorikov reported.
In his words, in January-June 2007 Mogilev increased industrial output by 13.2%, consumer goods output - by 8.6%, retail trade turnover - 14.1%, the sales of for-fee services - 14.7%.
Over the period in question the city commissioned 82,600 square metres of housing (against the target of 80,000) and saved 24.6% of energy resources (13.5%). The unemployment level in Mogilev dropped to 1.1%, and the average salary increased, the mayor informed.
The return on goods and services averaged out at 9.9% (2.9% up). The net profit of the city's economy rose 1.8-fold in January-May 2007.
At the same time, the mayor is concerned with the insignificant growth of fixed capital investments. Investments in Mogilev economy totalled BYR 246.4 billion in January-June 2007, which is 19% up on the year, but makes only 31.6% of the yearly target.
