Mogilev Carriage Works CJSC is expected to make 2,000 carriages in 2009, which will mark a 5.7-fold increase in output against 2007, a company representative told Interfax.
In 2008 the works will make 760 freight carriages, two times up on the year.
As formerly reported by Interfax, Mogilev Carriage Works will undergo a comprehensive upgrading project in the coming two years.
The estimated project cost is $35 million. The funds are expected to come from foreign and Belarusian investors, the premier added.
The project will bring the annual production capacity of the works to at least 150,000 carriages.
Mogilev Carriage Works CJSC was registered in March 2005. The company is located on the premises of Mogilev Automobile Plant. 60% of the company's shares belongs to BelAZ, 40% is owned by private Russian companies.
The company occupies over 100 persons.
