Mogilev Chemical Fibre Plant produced BYR 855.7 billion, or 12.3% up on the year, Interfax-West learnt from a company representative.
The output of consumer goods rose by 1.3%, the source added.
Last year the company exported $222.5 million worth of goods, or 5% up on 2007.
They attribute the production increase to the company's retooling and modernization efforts.
Also, the company continues implementing former investment projects and is getting ready to get registered as a resident of Mogilev Free Economic Area.
Mogilevkhimvolokno is one of Europe's leading producers of polyester fibres and threads and the only manufacturer of polyethylene terephthalate in the CIS. It was established in 1968 and transformed into a joint-stock company in 2002.
99.95% of the equity capital belongs to state. The company employs about 10,000 people
