Mogilev Chemical Fibre Plant has produced a pilot lot of biofuel, a company representative told Interfax-West.
According to the source, in 2009 the company is planning to make around 600,000 tonnes of biofuel.
Mogilevkhimvolokno is one of Europe's leading producers of polyester fibres and threads and the only manufacturer of polyethylene terephthalate in the CIS. It was established in 1968 and transformed into a joint-stock company in 2002.
99.95% of the equity capital belongs to state. The company employs about 10,000 people
The company continues implementing former investment projects and is getting ready to get registered as a resident of Mogilev Free Economic Area.
Mogilevkhimvolokno OJSC produced BYR 784.5 billion worth of goods in January-November 2008, or 17.5% up on the year. Exports grew 11.6% ($210 million).
