Mogilev craftswomen work at “Victory Salute” scrappy covering – a huge composition made from separate picture pieces, - one of the initiators of the project, Tatiana Petrenko, informed.
According to Tatiana Petrenko, it was Polotsk handmade talisman dedicated to 1145th anniversary of the city, that inspired Mogilev craftswomen to create a monumental work in honour of the Day of Mogilev city and the 65th anniversary of liberating Belarus from German-fascist invaders.
By now the largest part of the main panel has been made by Mogilev craftswomen who joined the club “Yaselka”. There is Mogilev coat of arms in the centre of the panel, and along edges of the panel there will be embroidered history and architecture monuments of the city standing on the Dnieper River. Picture pieces of the composition will be made with the help of different needlework techniques: cross-stitch, appliqués, crocheting elements, beads braiding, etc.
7 more pieces are to be created to finish the work, afterwards it will be presented at celebrations dedicated to the Day of Mogilev city and the 65th anniversary of liberating Belarus from German-fascist invaders that will be held in Mogilev on July, 2-4.
