Pridneprovskaya Poultry Farm based in Mogilev District has commissioned a quail-breeding shop, a company representative told Interfax.
Currently the shop hosts 2,500 quails that are expected to give 5,000 eggs daily. The quails were brought from Minsk-based Krupskaya Poultry Farm, the source specified.
The company also keeps 607 hens and 352,000 head of chickens. The layers enable the farm to sell 500,000 eggs daily (half of egg output is exported to Russia).
In addition, the company owns an ostrich farm in Klimovichi District. The farm hosts 500 ostriches that laid 964 eggs and hatched 138 fledglings last year.
In January 2008 the company produced BYR 4 billion worth of goods, or 9% up on the year.
Pridneprovskaya Poultry Farm was founded in 1974. Currently the company specializes in egg production. The staff counts around 1,000 persons.
