Co-operation with Russia stands high on the list of Mogilev priorities, Mogilev Mayor Viktor Shorikov reported on Wednesday.
According to the mayor, in 2007 the trade turnover between Russia and Mogilev totaled $875 million. Exports to the Russian Federation reached $527 million, while imports made $348 million. Mogilev traded with 74 Russian regions.
According to the foreign trade department of Mogilev Region Administration, the region concluded co-operation agreements with the administrations of 45 Russian regions. Last year the trade turnover between Mogilev Region and the Russian Federation totaled $1.5 billion. In 2007 the Belarusian region traded with 80 Russian regions. Over 60% of Mogilev Region's exports fell on the Russian Federation.
Mogilev Region exports to Russia chemical threads and fibres, plastic, tyres, passenger elevators, electric engines, agricultural machinery and equipment, pumps, construction materials, fabrics, footwear, garments, foodstuffs.
