Mogilev Fish Factory is expected to complete the upgrading program in 2008, a company representative told Interfax.
According to the source, the program will enable the company to considerably expand product range (in particular, semi-finished goods and products with a prolonged shelf life), improve the quality of goods and working conditions.
The estimated cost of the project is BYR 1.3 billion.
Mogilev Fish Factory produces salted, smoked, dried fish, pickled fish, semi-finished fish products, as well as pickled laminaria. Currently the company makes over 80 kinds of goods.
In January-November 2007 the company produced BYR 2.4 billion worth of goods, or 26.3% up on the year. In natural terms Mogilev Fish Factory made 515 tonnes of fish (11.7% up), including 446,000 equivalent packs of pickled fish.
Mogilev Fish Factory was founded in 1977. Today the company occupies around 130 people.
