The products of Mogilev-based Mogotex OJSC have been appreciated by participants in the 28th federal wholesale textiles and light industry fair that took place in Moscow last week, Director General Viktor Matiyevich told Interfax in an exclusive interview.
During the exhibition president of the Russian Textile and Light Industry Union Boris Fomin awarded Mogotex OJSC with a medal for contribution to the development of the national textile market, the source reported.
In addition, the company received a proposal to take part in an exhibition of personal protection equipment that will be held in Russia's State Duma in late April, the source added.
According to Matiyevich, Mogilev is an associated member of the Russian association of producers of personal protection equipment. The association unites 84 companies, of which only 15 were invited to partake in the aforementioned exhibition, including Mogotex OJSC.
"This is going to be a very important event for us. Speaker of the State Duma Boris Gryzlov will open the exhibition, and among the participants there will be representatives of Russian security agencies", Matiyevich said.
In his words, Mogotex already co-operates with the Russian Federal Security Service and the Federal Guard Service (uniform), as well as Russian Railways OJSC (interior, bedding).
Today Mogotex offers over 400 fabric titles for overalls, raincoats, lining, furnishing, men and women garments, shutters, curtains, etc. Clothes fabrics account for 65% of the total output, interior fabrics - 25%, technical fabrics - 10%.
In January-February 2007 the company produced 5.9 million running metres of fabrics, 2.9% up on the year.
In monetary terms, Mogotex manufactured BYR 33.5 billion worth of goods, or 8.8% up on the year. Consumer goods output grew 10.4% (BYR 18.8 billion).
Fabric design and production meets ISO 9001 quality management system standards testified by certificates of the Belarusian State Standard Committee and German TUY CERT.
The company was founded in 1973. It employs 4,200 people.
